ICSoR will be held in the Bailey Allen Hall, Aras na Mac Leinn in the National University of Ireland, Galway (NUIG). To download the interactive campus map please click here.
Their Conference Centre is located in the centre of Galway city, along the banks of the River Corrib. With picturesque grounds and state of the art meeting facilities, this venue is truly unique.
Parking
The NUI Galway campus which has very restrictive parking for visitors on weekdays. Most car parks are staff/student permit holders only, and there are very limited pay&display spaces (clampers are in operation on the campus).
We recommend that you do not take your car to the venue on Friday. You can use the free park and ride from Dangan (across the road and 100m from the Westwood Hotel) which drops you off at the back of the venue - you will need to print off the a permit for the park and ride which can be downloaded here. Alternatively, you may find parking at the Cathedral Car Park for €5 per day.
On Saturday there is free parking on campus and there is no park and ride shuttle service on this day.
Getting to and from the venue and your accommodation:
Galway city has two bus operators, City Direct and Bus Eireann (click on the links for route and timetable information). Please note you may need exact change to pay the fare (up to €1.90 per journey).
Those staying at the Westwood Hotel can avail of the park and ride bus from Dangan to the conference venue, please print out the attached permit. Taxis will take up to 4 people and a fare around Galway should average approximately €10. We recommend Cara cabs 00353 (0)91 563939.
